Today was the day the Moon stole the spotlight from the sun, but only for a mere moment. Yet everybody and everything notices. People crowded the roads, hoping to get a glimpse of the sun. The crickets chirped, as they only do at night. Dogs howled, firm noses pointed up toward the sun, who desperately attempted to shine past the Moon’s solid body. I took a deep breath of the suddenly cooler air and enjoyed the surprised dusk that felt misplaced in the middle of a hot summer afternoon.
